Abstract: The article substantiates the need to develop the direction of deep processing of grain as an innovative industry with a potentially high contribution to the gross domestic product of the state. The fundamental economic problems that are solved in this area are determined. For a better understanding of the significance of the direction, the essence of deep processing processes is disclosed, the prospects for deep processing of grain are substantiated, and the reasons for the inertia of the processes for implementing this concept are identified. The main directions of improving government support for the deep processing of grain are proposed.
