Abstract: Currently, domestic producers use little international experience in the use of tools to improve production efficiency. The classical approach in this direction is cost reduction through the acquisition of cheaper raw materials, the use of cheap labor and the introduction of innovative technologies, automation of production processes. In order to substantiate the adoption of managerial decisions on changing technological processes and setting priorities in the conditions of crisis, domestic producers of agricultural products use the tools of strategic management remains low. That is why the presented topic is relevant and necessary for the introduction into the practical activities of organizations of the agro-industrial complex. The purpose of the study is to justify the need to use a process approach to assess the performance of agricultural organizations. The application of the process approach allows to evaluate the effectiveness of management decisions based on the strategic level. The study found that the higher the strategic level of the organization, the wider the scope of opportunities to use the process approach and the more responsibility is placed on business leaders regarding long-term support for the organization’s performance indicators at a high level.
