Abstract: The relevance of the topic of this study is determined by the need to study, characteristics, analysis andevaluation of the effectiveness of the implemented aspects of digitalization in the practice of retail trade in food products. The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of existing elements of digitalization usedby the main market participants of food trade in consumer goods. Among the main participants of this market the author considers the trade networks of the Federal and regional level, Internet operators offood retail, niche food companies and agrologistics operators. The author came to the conclusion that the further growth of the eCommercemarket in Russia will be due to active participation in the sales offood products. The introduction of adequate digitaltechnologies and tools in the practice of trade business processes can have a positive impact on improving the efficiency of trading activities in general. The methods of this study include grouping, systematization and classification.
