Abstract: The paper examines some aspects of the organization, legal support of cooperative activities, as well as the management of modern large cooperatives (on the example of the dairy «cooperative – concern «Arla Foods». The classification of types of cooperatives is given, defined by the Swedish law on economic associations (cooperatives), built on the basis of a single criterion – the nature of the participation of members of the cooperative in its activities. The characteristics and distinctive features of each type of cooperative (four types) are considered in detail. The article comprehensively examines the category of "cooperative as a concern". The analysis of cooperative profit by its sources in modern agricultural cooperatives is carried out. Special attention is paid to the model of cooperatives of the second (supplier cooperatives) and third (production cooperative) types.
