Abstract: The article considers some theoretical aspects of investment and innovative development of agricultural production in Russia. It is noted that there is a need to adjust the state policy in the innovation sphere and to give the Russian Academy of Sciences the status of a state development institute. The author's understanding of the investment and innovative development of agricultural production is presented. Possible investment institutions for the development, financing and implementation of the results of innovative activities in agriculture have been identified in a single system.
