Abstract: In 2018, the Decree of the President of the Russian «On national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024» and the National Project «International Cooperation and Export» were published, which determine the volume of imports of agricultural products. However, to date, there is a discussion in the scientific literature about the structure of agricultural exports and their volumes. At the same time, there is no economic justification for increasing the volume of exports in the regulatory and legal regulation regulating the increase in the export of agricultural products. This led to the fact that in January 2021, the volume of exports of agricultural products was adjusted from 45 to 34 billion US dollars. And this is not to mention the fact that the criteria for the implementation of which the state can set the task of increasing the export of agricultural products have not been worked out, the main indicators for assessing the effectiveness of the export of agricultural products have not been worked out.
