Abstract: The article considers the current state and export opportunities of sugar beet production in the Russia. It is shown that taking into account the continued pace of sugar production in the country, the profitability of both agricultural producers and sugar beet processors is at risk. At the same time, it is noted that sugar beet production is the most important strategic and multifunctional sub-complex of the Russian economy. This served as a justification for choosing the purpose of the study, which is to develop methodological approaches and practical recommendations for improving sugar beet production in the country, taking into account current trends related to sugar overproduction and the development of export opportunities.
