Abstract: The current conditions of import substitution and ensuring food security dictate the need to create an innovative agricultural environment on the basis of scientific, technical and biotechnological development of the agro-industrial complex. Any development of agriculture should be based on the introduction of new technological developments, and as a result on attracting young specialists to the industry who have specialized agricultural education. The article lists the directions for the development of agricultural science and agribusiness. The features of the scientific and technological development of the agricultural sector are highlighted, which boil down to the formation of new high-tech markets in the following areas: smart agriculture, including high-tech types of crop and livestock products, including those based on new technical solutions; functional foods, including those with unique beneficial properties; new varieties, hybrids, breeds and crosses based on accelerated selection; balanced unified feeds for highly productive animal husbandry and aquaculture, etc. Also, the features of scientific and technological development of agro-industrial sectors and sub-sectors (sugar beets and corn for grain) are highlighted.
