Abstract: Argentina is a significant participant in the global agri-food market. Argentina is a world leader in soybean oil and soybean cake as well. Agricultural export dominates in external total merchandise trade from Argentina. Periodically agricultural export is a substantial source of Federal budget revenues and strongly supports the foreign trade balance. The first part of the research results reveals quantitative indicators of agricultural export from Argentina, including the structure of export by product type and by geographical destination. Policy actually regulating the agricultural export based on export taxes and restrictions and its socio-economic and environmental impacts are reflected in the second part of the research results. The Discussion presents the main options to improve the export policy of Argentina, including the development of innovative export areas (organic products, biotech crops, biodiesel).
