Abstract: The paper discusses the issues of assessing the economic efficiency of the location ofproduction in agriculture of the Orel region in the aspect of the administrative-territorial division of the region and regional branch agricultural specialization. An assessment of the volume of agricultural production in the region, the dynamics of the population in the municipal districts of the region, as well as the number of employed workers in the regional agribusiness is given. Based on the structure of the sectoral distribution of industries in the districts of the Orel region, they are grouped according to production volumes and the level of sectoral specialization. The results of economic activity in the branches of agricultural production of the Orel region and the level of efficiency of their staffing in the context of the branch specialization of regional agriculture are analyzed.
