Abstract: The results of the analysis of the country food security are reflected. Assessment of the food supply level for the population necessitated an increase in agricultural production in Russia. There is a risk of a further decrease in food security, even despite the implementation of the state policy of import substitution. The priorities and tools for achieving food security are reflected. It is determined that the development of integration formations in the agro-industry is one of the mechanism components for the interconnection of food security at the macro-, meso- and micro levels. The optimal parameters of the integration of agro-industrial structures in various investment scenarios are highlighted. The analysis showes that the integration processes in agricultural production, namely the addition of industrial processing of milk and meat, contribute to a higher value of the net present value. The risk level of creating an agro-industrial formation with a full production cycle based on simulation modeling is justified. In the framework of the large-scale socio-economic and political reforms required for the sustainable development of the country, maintaining the necessary level of food security, and the competitiveness of the domestic agricultural economy, a significant role is given to the increasing of investment activity. The most important area of ensuring food security should include the reform of the infrastructure support system for the agro-industrial complex based on the active development of resource-saving technologies, technical and organizational and technological updates. We consider it is economically feasible to invest in the development of resource-saving technologies in the construction of complexes for on-farm storage of agricultural products, the organization of distribution and logistics centers, which will help to improve the relationship structure of industry enterprises, increase the concentration of capital and increase economic efficiency due to economies of scale.
