Abstract: In this study, the analysis of the current state and prospects of development of the wine subcomplex in the context of the tasks of ensuring food security of the Russian Federation in terms of import substitution policy. From the standpoint of a systematic approach, the place of the country's food complex in the structure of the country's agriculture is considered. Modern tendencies are characterized and key problems of development of the grape and wine subcomplex as the most important component of the food complex of the South of Russia in the conditions of implementation of policy of import substitution are revealed. The possibilities and prospects of further development of the wine subcomplex in order to ensure sustainable development in terms of import substitution based on the introduction of digital technologies are outlined. The article considers foreign and domestic experience of digitalization of industries agriculture, identified priority areas for the introduction of digital technologies in agricultural industry of Russia. The necessity of digitalization of the agricultural sector as the most important direction of its modernization and development is substantiated.
