Abstract: The article discusses the promising directions of development of agriculture in terms of scientific and technological progress. The main socio-economic problems and limitations of the industry associated with high depreciation of fixed assets, low rates of modernization of machinery and equipment, the lack of a systematic approach to the introduction of intelligent systems in the production cycle and management process. The directions of improving the efficiency of agriculture in the country and the effects that can be achieved through the introduction of digital robotic technologies are considered. Conclusions are drawn about the need for the use of robotic systems in order to improve safety and productivity, the growing market of service robotics and agro robots, the use of which has proven itself in the developed countries of the United States and the European Union. The article describes the experience of Russian companies in the development of agro-robotics, which takes into account the peculiarities of interaction with living organisms and safety requirements for humans. Directions of increase of efficiency of agriculture on the basis of system modernization and technical re-equipment of branch are allocated.
