Abstract: The article presents a theoretical review of the provisions and the author's experimental studies, justifying the need to use business planning as a tool for managing an economic entity in the modern dynamic conditions of the economy in order to enhance innovation processes and ensure competitive advantages on this basis. The comparison of plans used in the planned economy and modern economic conditions is given. Recommendations are given to the enterprises of the agricultural sector to build a business planning system in modern innovation-oriented economic conditions.
