Abstract: Agriculture of the Republic of Moldova continues to be one of the main sectors of economic activity and is asource of basic income for a large part of the country's population. Moldova is considered to be an agricultural coun-try, but the agricultural potential of the Republic is not effectively used. Political, organizational and economicchanges in recent years have not led to serious changes in the agricultural sector, to improve the financial and eco-nomic situation of rural producers, despite the maximum grain harvest in 2016 (530 thousand tons). One of the main results of the agrarian reform is the emergence of a large number of individual farms and variousforms of cooperative agricultural enterprises. The positive effect of these changes is the formation of a competitiveenvironment in the agricultural sector, which helps to identify the most efficient producers and leads to an increase inthe efficiency of agricultural production in General.
