Abstract: The article analyzes fluctuations in the cost of dairy products from the size of cattle breeding facilities, which in the natural and climatic conditions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) leads to non-compliance with one of their basic economic postulates – a positive scale effect. The reasons for the uncontrolled growth of unit costs in cattle farms in Yakutia in comparison with the general parameters of the industry in Russia as a whole are considered. Proposals have been developed to increase the efficiency of livestock production in the regions of the Far North.
