Abstract: The article examines domestic and international experience in government support for small-scale forms of farming as an important factor in the sustainable economic and environmental development of regions. The mechanisms and instruments of public policy aimed at stimulating the activities of peasant (farm) enterprises, individual entrepreneurs, and household farms are analyzed. Particular attention is given to assessing the impact of state support programs on social stability, employment, food security, and the environmental balance of rural areas. Based on comparative and case analysis, the most effective practices of government support have been identified—those that combine economic efficiency with environmental responsibility. The results of the study confirm that state support for small-scale farming contributes to strengthening regional economies, reducing territorial disparities, and promoting the adoption of sustainable, resource-saving technologies. The conclusions emphasize the need to improve mechanisms of government support in line with the principles of sustainable development and regional specificity.
