Abstract: The alcohol industry of the region affects the social and economic situation. The dynamics of tax revenues of organizations in this industry is characterized by a significant share of excise taxes, which increases the revenue side of the budget. But at the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the efficiency of the manufacturing organizations that are market participants, meet demand and are responsible for the quality of their products. Given the import dependence of the industry due to the low level of technological sovereignty with an assessment of the possibility of enterprise development, financial independence is of paramount importance. The level of economic efficiency of such a business process as sales in all areas of production is low and does not provide an opportunity to ensure expanded reproduction. The Belgorod region is also no exception: 31.8% of organizations in the region are unprofitable. This directly affects financial independence, the level of which is quite low in the region. In the Belgorod region, there are no large and practically no medium-sized manufacturing organizations, and they are the main payers of excise taxes to the budget. The presented analysis indicates negative trends in the direction of reducing efficiency and worsening the financial position of organizations. This reduces the investment attractiveness of the business, which affects the technological equipment of the production process and will lead to a deterioration in the quality of products, which, in turn, will affect the social indicators of the region.
