Abstract: Cardboard and paper are widely used materials, occupying more than a third of the domestic packaging market at all stages of production, transportation and consumption of goods, raw materials and food in agri-food systems, including primary packaging at the points of production and sale, secondary packaging for transportation and storage, as well as other types of packaging depending on the purpose. Using the main research methods: collection of scientific material, systematization and grouping, analysis and generalization, the authors presented the result of their work in this article. The analysis is reflected: the volume of paper and cardboard production for 2017-2024 in general and by type of packaging, average prices of cardboard and paper packaging manufacturers, the structure of the paper and cardboard food packaging market, consumption of corrugated cardboard packaging by type of goods and other indicators. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were made, including: despite all the difficulties, the cardboard packaging market in Russia has significant potential for growth, proposals are given for the development of the paper and cardboard packaging market.
