Abstract: One of the key areas of ensuring the national sovereignty of the country is its achievement of food security. The policy of ensuring food independence of the state is based on import substitution of agricultural products. In accordance with this, the article analyzes the dynamics of imports and domestic production of agricultural products, as well as a comparative assessment of the import balance and the level of self-sufficiency for the main types of food. Based on the analysis data, an assessment of the changes in the indicators of production and import of agricultural products is given, and the main commodity items for which import substitution has been achieved are identified.
