Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the state of technical and technological support for the production of dairy cattle in Russia. It provides data on self-sufficiency in dairy cattle products and the production of such products in farms of all categories over the past 5 years, as well as changes in production costs and cost of sales for these products. The issues of providing dairy cattle farming with agricultural machinery and equipment and digitalization of this sub-sector of animal husbandry, as well as measures of its state support, are considered. As a result of the analysis of the current state of technical and technological support for dairy cattle breeding, as well as existing state support for the modernization of production of such products, the main measures necessary to enhance the modernization of this sub-sector of animal husbandry have been identified.
