Abstract: The article focuses on the development of agricultural production in the face of challenges and threats. Sep-arate indicators of the development of agriculture in Russia as a whole and by categories offarms are analyzed. Theproblems constraining development of an agricultural production are revealed. The measures to enhance the activitiesin the agrarian sector of the country aimed at increasing the production of bioproducts in demand on the world mar-ket are suggested.
