Abstract: The study analyzes the problems of agriculture and the agro-food market of Russia in the context of the introduction of large-scale sanctions against the country by Western countries. The dependence of the Russian agro-industrial complex on a number of foreign goods, including seeds, plant protection products, feed additives, equipment and various components, has created significant difficulties in the functioning of some sectors of the agro-industrial complex. In addition, the sanctions caused disruption of the supply chains of agri-food products and created problems in the transport and logistics sector. In particular, the refusal of foreign carriers to work with Russian companies, the closure of many ports for them and the need to look for new routes, as well as the increase in prices for transport services from those foreign companies that did not refuse to provide their services, negatively affected Russia's foreign trade. In order to adapt agriculture and the agri-food market of Russia to new geopolitical changes, the Government of the country promptly adopted a set of measures aimed at increasing their sustainability, ensuring food security and protecting the domestic market.
