Abstract: The article shows the role and importance of cooperation in improving the management system of the agro-industrial complex of the municipal district, strengthening the agricultural economy at the district and settlement levels, creating favorable conditions for the sustainable development of rural territories. The necessity and importance of the active participation of municipal authorities in the organization of agricultural cooperation in modern conditions are determined. The features of the organization and development of various types of agricultural cooperatives are investigated. The need for state support of agricultural cooperation at the initial stage of the organization was emphasized.
