Abstract: The article describes the main problems of increasing the efficiency of dairy cattle breeding in Russia and the Ryazan region. Efficiency: production and technological, economic, social and environmental, as a unified system of criteria and indicators in relation to the industrial, industrial and traditional system of keeping cows. A comparative assessment of the features of cattle breeding is given. The reserves and ways of increasing the efficiency of management in the industry are identified, taking into account its zonal differences.
