Abstract: The article explains the role of food security in ensuring the state sovereignty of Russia in the new geopolitical conditions associated with the growing threat from the United States and its allies. The authors draw attention to the need for a conceptual change in the fragmented state agrarian policy, still based on Western liberal values, the transition to a paradigm of systemic long-term state food planning based on the priority of national interests, inter-nal factors of agricultural development and reliance on own resources
